Thanks for writing such an informative article. I hope you write about more health issues that no one wants to talk about. I'm inspired to be more faithful in doing my kegals.

I fully understand all that Becky experienced. I went through that at 17, while a student nurse. This is a good article and needs more exposure.

Sad to say getting to your 50's is well worth the wait but you must take care of your body and pay attention to it... I am praying my trials (trails) will be uneventful....

When I heard this talked about on Oprah, I was very puzzled by it. This article helped me to better understand this situation. While I am currently lucky enough to have all my "innards" up where they belong, this gave me some very useful information. THANKS!

Thank you for writing this very enlightening article. This happened to my grandmother when she was older but I did not realize it could happen in women in their 30's and 40's. I have always suffered from problems with my bladder so this is a concern of mine since it happened to my grandmother.

The best thing we can do as girlfriends and/or sisters is to relate these experiences with one another. Yes, misery does love company but the other aspect is enlightenment. How wonderful that the author could take this frightening experience and use it a a teaching tool and encouragement for the rest of us. That is true courage!

Sadly, I can relate to your experience. For information about Cystocele, I found MayoClinic.com the best source. I've managed pretty well for some time but I'm fast closing in on the time that I will have to see a Urologist. My worst moment didn't come in the shower. Foolishly, at my age, I was jumping on a trampoline with my grandson and the old bladder said Ooops!!!! I found out I can still run...

This article is great! I can't tell you how many women I know who deal with this issue. And NO ONE talks about it! Why some issues are not spoken about, I have no idea. We should not be ashamed, and we should expect more from our doctors and our bodies. I want to share this article with so many other women who deal with urinary issues. Your writing is also great - warm voice, smart information, and compassion. From the shower scene to the diagnosis - great writing, thanks for sharing.
