I have chosen to participate in a very worthwhile golf tournament on April 21, 2008.  The 16th Annual Rhubarb Jones’ Celebrity Golf Classic will be held at The Golf Club of Georgia and will be benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  This tournament is important to me because of all the faces I see of those who suffer from blood cancers. Leukemia, lymphoma & myeloma are cancers that originate in the bone marrow and lymphatic tissues. Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children and young adults under age 20.

The day begins with an incredible round of golf with sports and music celebrities, and culminates with dinner, silent and live auctions, and a jam session that is beyond words! Legendary entertainer Charlie Daniels is returning as the Honorary Chairman.

Money raised at this extraordinary golf event will benefit the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Donations help the estimated 823,000 Americans who are living with a blood cancer and fund critical, life-saving research and patient programs.

Here’s where you and I come in. I hope to raise at least $750 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in order to participate and I need your help! Please visit the following link to donate securely online with a credit card https://www.miraclegolfconcepts.com/donate.php?p=1514&e=126.

Meet James Cyran - This Year’s Honored Hero, and inspiration.

Hi, my name is James Cyran.  I am twelve years old.  I love baseball and golf, in fact, I am on a travel baseball team.  My dad and I try to play golf on the weekend as much as we can, if there isn't a baseball tournament and if I'm feeling well enough.  I was diagnosed with leukemia on February 21st, 2007, after trying to figure out a mysterious back pain.  I will be on treatment for another 27 months.  Treatment has been getting easier for me, but in the beginning it was a living nightmare.  Between being in the hospital, not being able to go to school, and barely being able to walk, it was a misery.  But, that's all behind me and I'm really looking forward to being at the Celebrity Golf Tournament as your Honored Hero.

I do what I can to raise money for people like James. Thanks for taking the time to consider being a part of finding a cure for blood cancers.
