Dr. D's Journey Through Organic Farming Days And
Letting Go Of Material Objects
Once upon a time, we were a genuine,
working, organic farm. For seven
years my (at-the-time) husband and I
lived a green life in every sense of the
word. We owned a backhoe and a
tractor, and maintained 13 acres of
farm land in Potomac, Maryland.

Letter From The Editor
Dear FiftyAndFurthermores,
Welcome to the Spring issue of our FiftyAndFurthermore ezine - the going
Green issue (our Spring “Greenzine!”) We’ve been very busy at FiftyAnd-
Furthermore, working on a new public relations outreach, as well as TV
tapings for AARP and WUSA (CBS affiliate in DC). We are happily buzzing
along and challenging ourselves to reach new goals and explore new opportunities.
In fact, we have nurtured and grown our Greenzine issue to the
point that it literally sprouted up on us and expanded to a whopping 28
pages.
The Greenzine covers a wide variety of issues, with topics
ranging from high brow to high tech, serious to light-hearted,
academic to controversial, sexy to substantial.
Award winning Dr. Devra Davis is a mover and
shaker, and the author of a very controversial book
called The Secret History of the War on
Cancer. Dr. Robert Harris addresses the
complexities of whether or not to drink
bottled water, an important issue for
grandparents and grandchildren, and
all those in between. Well respected
developer, Gail Montplaisir, writes
about green rooftops to keep us warm.
We even advise our FiftyAndFurthermore
readers about which condoms are
the greenest!
Feel free to pick and choose the articles that appeal to you the
most. Click on the featured articles on the cover, flip through
the ezine page by page, or zoom in to the table of contents for a specific articles.
While we do indeed put a
lot of work into the ezine (and have a blast doing
it), remember that the issues serve only as a reflection
of the wonderful writing that you can find on
FiftyandFurthermore.com; by no means do they
include the whole spectrum of articles on the site.
So be sure to check out www.FiftyAndFurthermore.com
to read the
full library of our articles; we add new features
daily and highlight some of the newest articles right
on the front page.
And finally, I believe, as many others do, that we
humans are careless and guilty of destroying
ourselves. As I was working on this issue, it
propelled me to visit an alternative health professional
to be tested for toxins. I was loaded with
them, and I believe that many of them are caused
by pollutants in our environment. Whether you
agree or disagree with our experts, this issues
brings up many topics that have been ignored for
far too long. FiftyAndFurthermore is proud to take
part in helping to keep our planet green and growing.
Life is too hard to do alone - Reach out!

Going green isn’t just limited to buying organic
food. We all know that the fastest way to your
lover’s heart is through their stomach. But did you
know that organic can equal orgasmic?
Since the beginning of time, sages have understood
the erotic power of food. Romans fed their beloved
with tantalizing and tempting grapes. Montezuma
drank dozens of cups of a chocolaty beverage every
day to keep up his sexual strength. Hippocrates
prescribed honey (rich in antioxidants) to boost
desire, and Casanova devoured oysters (high in
zinc, a mineral used in the production of testosterone
in both men and women) to elevate his sexual
prowess.
As FiftyAndFurthermores, we may not have the
same quick trigger hormone rushes of desire that
we used to. Here are some all natural organic
orgasmic inducers that are sure to add some flavor
and spice to your love life.
Erotic finger foods such as pitted olives, peel-and eat
shrimp, and clams on a half-shell require us to
eat with our hands in a slow sensual way, paying
attention to the way the food makes us feel. Consider
the phallic shape of vitamin packed vegetables
like cucumbers, eggplant, and zucchini. Vibrant
and tangy berries, cherries, pomegranates and
papayas provide a sweet happy ending to any
romantic interlude.

Do you have any great green tips or practices that you have
incorporated into your daily lives? What about any green
goals or personal pledges that you have promised to yourself,
but haven’t gotten around to yet? Where do you fall
short as far as your environmental responsibilities? Do you
remember to recycle and buy natural organic cleaning
products, but can’t get yourself to carry that ugly cloth bag
to the grocery store? Do you feel guilty consuming and
using non-green products like plastic bags, disposable
water bottles, or harmful chemical lawn products? Or do
you think going green is all being blown out of proportion?
Do you own a fur coat, yet wear organic cosmetics not
tested on animals? We won’t judge you!
Write us, we’d love to hear your thoughts about struggling
to remain guilt-free and green on an increasingly complicated
planet. We are all looking for practical answers on
how to save the planet for generations to come. Please
send us your GREENEST TIPS to
news@FiftyAndFurthermore.com. Select tips will be
reprinted in future issues of the FiftyAndFurthermore ezine,
and as always, all entry names are kept confidential and
anonymous.
The GREENEST TIP will receive a special FiftyAndFurthermore gift pack, up to $100 in value. The
second runner-up will receive also a special gift package
valued at approximately $25. Winners will be announced
on www.FiftyAndFurthermore.com and in the summer ezine.
