Date2015-10-08

"Young at heart" but more mature in years people still in good health and able to explore various vacation travel suggestions are open to both traditional and unusual recommendations. There are a multitude of possibilities that are extra friendly and accommodating to that age group, and it is just a matter of discovering that the experiences exist. A definite “perk” is that there are many special budget offers that seniors can choose from.

Take a Cruise

There are many companies such as the well-advertised Viking River Cruises with that sail from one day to a month or more and “go down a lazy river” such as the beautiful Danube, Europe’s most important waterway. You can go to Alaska or on the oceans in all directions where you stop and explore many charming and historic towns

Go to a World Class City

Europe has some of the greatest cities in the world, and there are so many historic and famous places to explore as well as exciting day trips, castles, entertainment, arts and culture, dining, shopping, and guided tours that will give you all the facts and point out places and things that you wouldn’t find on your own.

Do You Prefer Country-Western Shows and Shopping?

Branson, Missouri, the “Live Music Show Capital of the World” and the best alternative to Las Vegas, presents live shows in over 50 theaters, many of which feature some of the biggest names in entertainment. The downtown area is filled with restaurants and shopping, and the area also has about a dozen world-class golf courses.

Would You Like to Soak Up Southern Charm?

Among your choices could be Charleston, South Carolina, one of the most historic cities in the United States with houses that made it through the Revolution and Civil Wars, Fort Sumter where the Civil War began, a Historic District, outstanding churches, and more. Take a carriage ride and feel that you are certainly going back in time.

Niagara Falls

These famous falls on the border between the United States and Canada are majestic and certainly a sight to see, especially if you take the Maid of the Mist Boat Tour. If you happen to go in September, there is the Niagara Wine Festival with over two dozen wineries holding special events. From November through January, the incredible Winter Festival of Lights includes illumination, concerts, and fireworks.

Mountain Resort

Whether you actually want to ski or take part in other winter sports, or if you prefer to relax by a fireplace, a resort in one of the mountains is an outstanding and memorable experience.

Green Valley, Arizona

A retirement village built especially for seniors, this is in the south of Arizona next to the Mexican border. The landscape is amazing with cactus flowers in the desert sand, there is golfing and other sports, and the town is famous for some of the best Native American crafts and gifts.

Would You Rather Relax?

In that case, pick a destination such as Hawaii or some of the other tropical islands or Florida where you can sit in the sun, go swimming, take part in water sports, play golf, be entertained with scrumptious meals and unusual shows, and get away from all the responsibilities of normal life.
